Cory Thompson, Custom Home Builder

Cory offers both custom home design and construction services.  With his unique expertise across both fields, Cory is skilled in translating his client’s vision into reality.

Bio:
Cory is a passionate expert in design and construction, stemming from his hands-on work ethic he learned early in life on his family’s farm near Charlotte, NC. After obtaining his Architectural Technology degree in 2007, he embarked on his professional journey at BMH Architects in Wilmington. In 2013, he founded 2x4 Designs, a boutique custom home design studio that has created numerous stunning homes along North Carolina's coast.

With a vision to offer more comprehensive services, Cory became a licensed Unlimited General Contractor in 2017, adding construction services to the company's offerings. This unique combination of skills allows him to bring his clients' visions to life from concept to completion, ensuring every detail is meticulously executed with the highest quality. Today, Cory takes great pride in witnessing his clients' dreams turn into reality at every stage of the construction process.

For fun:
Outside the office and job sites, Cory enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Kristen and daughter Fara. He also enjoys visiting art exhibits and boating on the Intracoastal Waterway with their rescue dog, Penny.

Robert Kearns

Project Management / Carpentry

Bio:
Robert, a native of Charlotte NC enjoys the challenges and results of custom home building. His interest and passion for using his hands led him to change his initial career path from School Counselor in Flagstaff AZ to moving back to his home state to pursue his current career in construction management and hands on carpentry work.

You can find Robert kayaking the waters of the Cape Fear Region in his free time.
